Alandor Games · Last updated: 28 September 2026
The short version. The core of Astrella (the daily puzzle and practice) works with no account and no connection. If you link your Google account, your progress is saved so you don't lose it when you change phones, and you can play Ranked and Tournaments. We don't sell your data, there are no ads, and usage statistics are only collected if you turn them on.
Who processes your data
Astrella is built and maintained by one individual (Alandor Games). Contact: contacto@alandorgames.com.
What is collected, and why
- Account identifier — an anonymous id is created when you open the app; your Google email and name only if you tap "Connect with Google". Used to save and restore your progress.
- Game progress — solved puzzles, times, streak, gold, achievements, experience, Ranked rating and tournament results. Only with a linked account.
- Player name you choose — only if you play Ranked or Tournaments. It is public on the leaderboards and tournament brackets: don't use your real name or personal details.
- Data from each online match (Ranked, Tournaments and The Mine) — time, moves, marked cells, hints used, result and app version. Used to work out results, points and prizes, and to detect cheating (for example, impossible times).
- Messages you send from Settings → Help, along with app version, phone model and language, so the problem you describe can actually be investigated.
- Anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — only if you opt in. Off by default; you're asked once and can change it any time in Settings → More.
- Technical device identifier (Firebase Installations / App Check) — to verify requests come from the real app and not from something trying to cheat or flood the server.
Astrella shows no ads and uses no advertising ID. Your data is never sold or shared for commercial purposes.
Without an account
You can play the daily puzzle and quick games, and use the shop, achievements and stats. It all stays on your phone only — which also means uninstalling or switching phones loses it. That's why account linking and the backup code (Settings → More → Export) exist. Ranked and Tournaments do need a linked account, because your name and score are shared with other players.
Who it is shared with
Astrella uses Firebase by Google (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Hosting, App Check and, if enabled, Analytics). See firebase.google.com/support/privacy. No other company is involved: no ad networks, no tracking tools, no third-party sharing.
Links to other sites
Settings → Help has buttons to Ko-fi, X and Bluesky, and the game links to Google Play. Tapping them takes you out of Astrella, and that site's privacy policy applies. Astrella sends them none of your data.
Retention
For as long as you keep the account. Delete it and the data goes with it. Anonymous accounts that never saved anything are cleaned up periodically.
Your rights, without emailing anyone
- Delete everything: Profile → Account → "Delete account & data". Device and server. Permanent.
- Take your progress with you: Settings → More → Export.
- Stop sharing statistics: Settings → More.
- Sign out without deleting anything: Profile → Account → Sign out.
You can also write to contacto@alandorgames.com to access, correct, restrict or object to processing, or complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
Astrella is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If what the app collects changes, this page is updated the same day and the date above changes.
